In essence, my intention has been to creatively
illustrate a naturally occurring image that is laden with legal and socio-political
baggage that it in itself does not posses, being simply a 'natural thing'.
The plant itself is neither for or against legalisation, or any other such
issue, and artistically this is my intended meaning, provoking the viewer
to realise that their reaction is precisely that, and has nothing in particular
to do with the world beyond themselves - of which the marijuana leaf is a
small part. How else could something support both enthusiastic support and
vehement opposition?
However, on a more superficial level, I hope
you'll agree that my work is simply pleasing to the eye and one reason I am
inviting your involvement is in order to spread these images as far and wide
as possible.
